Privacy Policy
Effective September 24, 2026
Jagimo! is an app for iPhone and Android made by Dog on a Horse ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use Jagimo!, why, who can see it, and how you can delete it. If you have questions, email woody@dogonahorse.com.
The short version: we collect what the game needs to work: your account, the topics, tosses, and comments you post, and optionally the city you toss from. We don't show ads, we don't sell or share your data for advertising, we don't use an advertising ID, and we don't track you across other apps or websites. You can delete your account and everything you posted from inside the app at any time.
What we collect
Your account
- Sign-in details. Your email address and password if you sign up with email (the password is stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in provider), or an identifier from Apple or Google if you use Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. With Sign in with Apple you can choose to hide your email; we then get a private relay address from Apple.
- Your profile. Your username, an optional profile photo, and counts of the jagimos you've started and tossed.
- Settings. Sound and notification preferences, and the people you've blocked or chosen to ignore.
What you post
- Topics, tosses, captions, and photos you add to jagimos.
- Likes, comments, favorites, and follows.
- Reports you file about content or people, including the reason and any note you add.
Location (optional, off by default)
If you turn on the location option when you toss, your device's approximate location is used to find your city. Only a place name (like "Brooklyn, NY") and coordinates rounded to about 5 km are saved with that toss. Our servers round the coordinates again, so nothing more precise is ever stored. We don't track your location in the background, and a toss without location has none.
Your device
- Push notification token, so we can tell you when a jagimo you're in is done. You can turn notifications off in the app or in your device settings.
- App integrity checks. Apple App Attest (iPhone) and Google Play Integrity (Android) confirm that requests come from the real Jagimo! app. These checks don't give us personal information.
- Crash reports. If the app crashes or hits an error, a report with your device model, operating system and app versions, and technical details of the error is sent to us so we can fix it.
Who can see what
| Information | Who can see it |
|---|---|
| Username, profile photo, started and tossed counts, followers and following | Everyone who uses Jagimo! |
| Topics of open jagimos | Everyone who uses Jagimo! |
| Your tosses (words, photos, captions, and city if you added it) | Nobody until the jagimo is complete; then everyone who uses Jagimo! |
| Comments and like counts | Everyone who can see the mashup |
| Email address, favorites, blocks, ignores, reports, settings | Only you (and us, to run the service) |
How we use it
- To run the game: create your account, deliver topics and tosses, reveal mashups, and send the notifications you've asked for.
- To keep Jagimo! safe: review reports, remove content that breaks our Content Policy, and act on violations of our Child Safety Standards.
- To fix bugs and keep the app reliable, using crash reports.
- To reply when you contact us.
We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell it or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Service providers
Jagimo! runs on Google Firebase (Google LLC), which stores and processes our data on our behalf: sign-in, the database, photo storage, server functions, push notifications, crash reporting, and app integrity checks. Other providers involved:
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, push notifications on iPhone, App Attest, and turning your location into a city name on iPhone.
- Google: Sign in with Google, Play Integrity, turning your location into a city name on Android, and the map on Android (Google Maps).
These providers handle data under their own privacy terms and only as needed to provide their service. Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries where they operate.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the safety of our users or the public (including reporting child sexual abuse material to the authorities, as described in our Child Safety Standards), or as part of a sale or transfer of the app, in which case this policy continues to apply.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and posts until you delete them or delete your account. When you delete your account, everything you posted and everything about you is deleted right away, as described on our Account Deletion page. Reports you filed are kept without your name so we can finish reviewing them. Crash reports are kept for up to 90 days.
Your choices and rights
- Delete a toss while its jagimo is still open, or delete your whole account in Profile → Delete Account.
- Change your photo, email, password, and sign-in methods in Profile.
- Turn off location for any toss, and notifications at any time.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it by emailing woody@dogonahorse.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and you can contact your local data protection authority.
Children
Jagimo! is rated 12+ and is not intended for children under 13. You must be at least 13 to use it. If we learn that someone under 13 has an account, we delete it. If you believe a child under 13 is using Jagimo!, email us.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections, access is limited by server-side security rules, and only the app itself can call our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affects you as the law requires.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
